“Soil Assessment & Management Services” is a unique business which looks below the surface to provide invaluable advice to help you make the best of your land.  Whether you have plans for crops or grazing, development for residential or commercial, problems with erosion or want to look at how you can improve soil quality, we can help.

 We conduct soil surveys and land resource assessment.  We take soil samples from many different points on a property and identify the soil types. This allows you to determine which crops will perform the best on your land, or the agricultural viability and hence which land uses achieve maximum yield.  Together with soil tests, we can then work out whether or not there are any constraints to crop growth and whether or not these limitations can be rectified so that the soils become more favourable to crop growth.  We provide you with advice and information on what is needed to make your soils work for you, for agricultural use or development.

 "Soil Assessment & Management Services" is a new business that Steve & Jan Griffiths have started up to fill a void in the services offered to farmers in the area. We found there are services here for plant nutrition, and farm management advice etc, but no one is starting from the ground down. It is very important to know what lies beneath the topsoil. What may appear to be great topsoil may actually hide problem or very different soils in the layers beneath. Some soil types are just not suitable from some crops and the problem may not be visible. We are offering a service to help farmers learn more about their soils, the whole picture so they can make more informed decisions to get maximum benefits from their land.
